Client Evaluations

Ok I did not get this on Amazon, I got it at a neighborhood expo show and paid a small much more but it is the same heli. This is a especially nice helicopter and regardless of other critiques seems to be rather sturdy. To give an example I have crashed numerous times, which includes into the ground, into a tree, a telephone pole, a steel automotive lift (the things that lift automobiles in mechanic shops), while I have a few dents and dings in the rotors they are nevertheless solid and it nonetheless flies. The balance bar bent as well but I just bent it back and all is nicely. I would call that pretty beneficial considering some of the alot more high dollar helis like my buddy has the rotor will shatter upon contact with a solid surface.
There is a understanding curve to flying this. Just simply because it is a gyro copter, dont believe that you can just take it out and fly with out crashing. I had a tough time getting off the ground for the first day, ground impact came in and created it go left every time. Right after some practice and messing with the trim tabs on day 2 I got honestly superior at it. It is affected by wind but ALL helicopters are. This is to contain true helicopters. Not a thing I normally bring up but in this case it might support, I use to be on a flight line with the AH-64A and AH-64D on a typical basis, I also worked on the guidance systems and weapons. Wind has a dramatic influence on a large heli so modest winds can and will knock an RC to the ground. To start out studying either do it on a day with no wind or locate a gym/auditorium to start off.
Battery time is not negative, I get about 15 minutes per charge, it takes about 2.five hrs to recharge the battery. I just ordered 5 even more batteries here on amazon so that I can get about an hour or alot more of play time just before having to wait on a charge. Overall I am satisfied with the obtain and in fact am going to get one particular for my buddy who paid more than 400 on his Pro heli that is also tough to get off the ground. I figure use these a studying tool then get to the larger extra advanced 4 - six channel helis.
Again just a suggestion, but get great with it at about 1.five - 2 ft off the ground initial. Its harder to fly closer to the ground mainly because of ground effects so if you can get very good close to the ground you really should have no challenges higher in the air.

For the cost, you actually get a quite decent piece of hardware. That getting mentioned, there are a few modifications I would make before use. It says prepared to fly on the box, and fly it will... how well is absolutely open to debate. The first issue is to eliminate the canopy, loosen the battery, and slide it most of the way forward, then tighten the mounting bracket down once more. This will move the center of gravity forward. This is necessary simply because with no doing this, you literally can not fly forwards. Other mods to enhance maneuverability are to shorten the tail boom, slide the landing skids forward (uncomplicated), and replace the rear tail rotor with 1 of these: [...]
Following replacing the rear rotor you will have to move the rear stabilizers up on the boom to make room for the bigger blades.
One more mod that helps a lot is to replace the battery with a larger 1, like a 15c 7.4v 3000mah. This also improves the flight characteristics by rising weight in the nose, and more than all (less likely to be batted about by the wind)
Make certain to decide to buy a complete set of replacement parts. You will need them... the helicopter is tough, dont get be wrong (I have crashed from 40+ feet with small to no harm) but there are breakable components like the blade holders. (they are cheap, decide to buy a hand full)
And right here is a link to a forum which has a lot of good info about how to make this excellent tiny chopper a excellent 1. For the price, its definitely a great deal.
[...]
[...]
A lot of people today seem to knock this helicopter simply because they don't ever want to work on it. That's component of the hobby... Enhancing and repairing the gear. Its not all that complicated, and the components are Low-priced, which is a boon. There are a lot of 'hobby grade' helicopters out there you could spend a lot more dollars on that most likely fly superior etc... but the price of maintainability goes WAY up. Give some thought to that for an initial investment of ~$60 its quite a hoot.
