Consumer Evaluations

Ok I did not decide to purchase this on Amazon, I got it at a neighborhood expo show and paid a small much more but it is the identical heli. This is a very good helicopter and in spite of other evaluations appears to be highly durable. To give an example I have crashed numerous occasions, which includes into the ground, into a tree, a telephone pole, a steel automotive lift (the points that lift vehicles in mechanic shops), when I have a couple of dents and dings in the rotors they are nonetheless solid and it nevertheless flies. The balance bar bent as well but I just bent it back and all is nicely. I would call that quite fine taking into consideration some of the even more high dollar helis like my buddy has the rotor will shatter upon contact with a solid surface.
There is a mastering curve to flying this. Just mainly because it is a gyro copter, dont assume that you can just take it out and fly with out crashing. I had a tough time getting off the ground for the initially day, ground effect came in and created it go left every single time. After some practice and messing with the trim tabs on day two I got seriously fantastic at it. It is affected by wind but ALL helicopters are. This is to contain true helicopters. Not a thing I typically bring up but in this case it could help, I use to be on a flight line with the AH-64A and AH-64D on a standard basis, I also worked on the guidance systems and weapons. Wind has a dramatic affect on a significant heli so smaller winds can and will knock an RC to the ground. To begin understanding either do it on a day with no wind or get a gym/auditorium to start.
Battery time is not bad, I get about 15 minutes per charge, it takes about two.5 hrs to recharge the battery. I just ordered 5 a lot more batteries right here on amazon so that I can get about an hour or additional of play time before having to wait on a charge. Overall I am satisfied with the invest in and basically am going to get one particular for my buddy who paid over 400 on his Pro heli that is too tough to get off the ground. I figure use these a finding out tool then get to the larger more advanced 4 - 6 channel helis.
Once again just a suggestion, but get great with it at about 1.five - 2 ft off the ground 1st. Its harder to fly closer to the ground simply because of ground effects so if you can get great close to the ground you really should have no challenges greater in the air.

For the price, you really get a fairly decent piece of hardware. That getting stated, there are a few modifications I would make ahead of use. It says prepared to fly on the box, and fly it will... how well is unquestionably open to debate. The initially factor is to get rid of the canopy, loosen the battery, and slide it most of the way forward, then tighten the mounting bracket down again. This will move the center of gravity forward. This is vital since devoid of undertaking this, you literally can not fly forwards. Other mods to raise maneuverability are to shorten the tail boom, slide the landing skids forward (simple and easy), and replace the rear tail rotor with 1 of these: [...]
Soon after replacing the rear rotor you will have to move the rear stabilizers up on the boom to make space for the bigger blades.
An additional mod that helps a lot is to replace the battery with a larger one particular, like a 15c 7.4v 3000mah. This also improves the flight characteristics by increasing weight in the nose, and more than all (less likely to be batted about by the wind)
Make positive to get a complete set of replacement parts. You will need to have them... the helicopter is difficult, dont get be wrong (I have crashed from 40+ feet with small to no damage) but there are breakable parts like the blade holders. (they are low cost, order a hand full)
And here is a link to a forum which has a lot of fantastic info about how to make this excellent small chopper a excellent 1. For the cost, its actually a awesome deal.
[...]
[...]
A lot of consumers appear to knock this helicopter considering that they do not ever want to work on it. That's element of the hobby... Enhancing and repairing the equipment. Its not all that complex, and the parts are Cheap, which is a boon. There are countless 'hobby grade' helicopters out there you could spend a lot more capital on that probably fly superior etc... but the price of maintainability goes WAY up. Take into consideration that for an initial investment of ~$60 its pretty a hoot.
