Low-cost and particularly fun to fly around the residence. A micro RC helicopter that doesn't price and arm and a leg, that can take a beating, and still be somewhat effortless to fly accurately is each and every tiny boy's dream. I have the original foam 2 ch SpinMasters helicopter and the three ch Syma S010 with no the gyro or remote operated lights, so I really feel that I am relatively knowledgeable with these toys.
This Apache has a fairly effectively detailed plastic body and with the bigger 3.7v battery, it flies substantially more rapidly than the prior 1.7v choppers. The controls are a bit over-sensitive in that the slightest movements on the appropriate stick rotates it or pitches it forward at close to complete speed - pretty much not much proportional manage. The Syma may have been slower and did not have the gyro, but it was smoother and a great deal more precise in controlling it. My Apache also seems to have a defective gyro or manage program, for the reason that whereas hovering, it continually spins clockwise slowly, even if the trim is set as far as possible to compensate. As the battery winds down, that clockwise spinning gets a bit more rapidly and I have to apply some left rudder to compensate additional, which is complicated considering the rudder is again overly sensitive. I also don't like the non-spring loaded throttle. It tends to make it far to uncomplicated to crash into a thing and then do further damage to the blades considering that the throttle is nevertheless up. As you fly around an indoor space you are going to still be making constant adjustments to the throttle, so I see why they want to have it stick to a single setting.
As far as educational worth, effectively it appears like a classic helicopter, but the propeller configuration and flight manage schemes are substantially unique - almost certainly less costly to produce but much less "accurate" or accurate to life.
